About Me

Hi, I’m Chanukya — an energetic and analytical Computer Science and Engineering student from Lovely Professional University with a strong passion for cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and cloud/network technologies. I enjoy exploring system internals, solving complex technical challenges, and building automation-driven security solutions.

I am proficient in Python, C, C++, Java, HTML, and CSS, with strong knowledge of security concepts, vulnerability assessment, and defensive security measures. Through Red Hat Linux training (RH124 & RH134), I built hands-on shell scripting projects such as disk alert systems, user session logging, and zombie process detection, which strengthened my Linux administration and automation skills.

My experience spans virtualization using VMware, Linux system administration, cloud fundamentals, and practical cybersecurity workflows. I am also preparing for CompTIA Security+ and have contributed as a co-author to upcoming Springer publications in cybersecurity and computational intelligence.

My career goal is to become a well-rounded cybersecurity professional skilled across multiple domains of modern security and cloud infrastructure. I aim to build expertise in Offensive Security (ethical hacking and penetration testing), Network & Cloud Security, Application Security and DevSecOps, and Blue Team operations such as SOC analysis and threat hunting. I am also interested in SOC–AI integration, Network Engineering, Cloud Security Engineering, and Incident Response & Digital Forensics. By combining these fields, I aspire to contribute to building secure, scalable, and resilient systems while defending organizations against evolving cyber threats.

My long-term goal is to become a well-rounded security professional capable of securing systems end-to-end — from networks and cloud infrastructure to applications and enterprise environments.

  • Phish Guard – Browser Security Extension:

    Built a Chrome extension that detects phishing URLs, blocks suspicious sites, and alerts users with continue/stop options.

    Implemented malware-type file download warnings, activity logs, and safe-browsing indicators using JavaScript and Chrome APIs.

  • Disk Alert System – Automated Storage Monitoring Tool

    Developed a shell script that continuously monitors disk usage and sends alerts when thresholds are exceeded.

    Implemented automated notifications, log generation, and real-time system tracking to prevent storage-related failures.

  • Old File Archiver – Automated Backup & Cleanup Utility:

    Created a script that identifies files older than a specified number of days and automatically archives or compresses them.

    Improved storage efficiency and enabled scheduled cleanup through cron jobs.

  • Password Expiry Notifier – User Security Automation Script:

    Built a script that checks password expiration dates for all system users and sends timely warnings.
